Neutral Grounding Resistor (NGR) is simple resistance connected in series between the neutral point of transformer and Earthing pit/point of neutral conductor.
NGR reduce the problems such as insulation breakdown caused by transient over voltage produce by arcing ground fault in underground system and damage to motors and switch gear caused by arcing in solidly grounded system.
