What is the difference between Wraft and file foundation and where these are used ?

If load of the structure is not huge enough and need not a deep foundation but the quality of soil also not very good in a shallow depth then we go for raft foundation. Where the load is quite high and need a good bearing capacity then we go for pile foundation.

Pile Foundation
1.Pile foundation is deep foundation ( Depth is more than depth)
2.Normally used coastal area's
3.It is used low bearing capacity (it transfer load into hard soil or rock in loose soil area)
4.Piles are used anchor structure against uplift load
