a limti state mehtod is a condition beyound which structure no longer fulfill the design criteria.
in working stress method it is assumed that plane section in bending will remain plane after bending.

working stress method is classical method to design structure element. for ie:- if we design beam (r) any other element its reinforcement requirement will be more than actual requirement.
in limit state method design will be based on factored load. reinforcement will be corresponding factored load. design section and Ast can use economically.

The building has 12 columns of 12x9 in 3 rows of 4 each in a plot of 50'x30', The central row is strengthened with 16mm twisted rods. The roof area is 1500 sft including balconies. calculate the load factor per sft. Also indicate the number of roofs the building can withstand.
