Because of we are using clear cover for slab is 20 to 25mm,
so we cant use 40mm slab.
we can use 40mm aggregates for heavy constructions only.
(Bridges, road, Raft & Heavy foundations)

Yes ,mr. Rahteesh correct, another reason whern 40mm used in concrete the surface are of 40mm is larger when mixing and placing voids are there,
