WHY WE GENERATE 3 PHASE POWER ONLY AND NOT 4 OR 5 OR 6
PHASE??? PLS REPLY.

Answer / ziyad
there is no engineering reason for that.
the reason is economical.
since they start generating by three phase and the following
designs was based on the first models, and it is difficult
to change the system that already exist so they continue to
design three phase generators and transmission systems.

3 phase system generating & transmission is economical, all
the machinerys are working in 3 phase supply ,so why to
generate 4 phse& 5 phase,if generate 4phase the
transmission &distribution is very difficult

because the 3 phase
tends the 120 deg
phase sequence to
the high loads
