what is the difference between potential transformer and
capacitive voltage transformer?
Potential Transformer:
This Potential transformer is used upto 66kV only..
because after the ranges of voltage it's manufacturing is
difficult..
Capacitive Voltage Transformer:
This CVT is used above 66kV voltage..In this CVT, Connects
the Capacitors in series and it reduces voltages and then
that reduced amount of voltage is feed to the step down
transformer...
This CVT is connected with the Wave Trap then this is used
for communication between the substations.....
This CVT is reduces the losses and eliminates the high
frequencies..
