What Normal(Tangent) towers and Tension(Cut-point) Towers?
Answer / mohamed
If the whole transmission line is normal towers and one
tower is broken, all towers will fall like domino one after
another because this tower cannot withstand tesion to the
sides it only can hold the weight of the conductor that is
pulling it downwards and the left and right tension will
cancel each other. So we use tension towers between every
4 or 5 normal towers, so when one tower is broken the
broken tower will be bounded between 2 tension towers,
these 2 towers will isolate the the tension because they
can withstand the tension to right or left.
