Is it necessary to place tap changer in secondary winding or we can use on both sides?..

Answer / vk jha

Primary winding is used for giving in-put and secondary
winding is used for taking desired out-put. Any change in
input causes variation in out put side. Hence tap changer
is placed at secondary side so that tap changes according
to input and keeps giving desired output.
