Normally generating voltage is 11KV from generator.if we
want to transmit that power to any location this voltage
must be stepped up,otherwise if we transmit at same voltage
level as generation voltages that is associated with high
transmission loss so the transformer which is used at
generator terminal for stepping up the voltage is called
Generating transformer.

generating transformar is the normal transformar one
which is used to step up the generiting voltage of the
generator at its generator terminal while transmiting
energy from one location to the other to reduce the
transmitting losses.
