Split ring : it is used to get pulsating voltage genrally
in case of DC motor and
Slip ring is used in case of AC supply ..where ever AC is
required

What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?..

Answer / shyamkr

in case of dc machines we use split ring where a complte
ring is splitted,in the number equal to the number of coils.
whereas slip ring is used in the case of ac machines in
where there is no need of converting ac to dc.
in short this split ring is used as mechanical converter in
case of dc machines.

What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?..

Answer / rahul

split ring is use in dc motor to make the direction of
current uniformly . the rotor of generator rotate by 360
degree . as per principle generating wave be sinusoidal for
180 degree +ve & 180-360 degree -ve .so to make the
direction of waveform unidirectional the split ring rotate
after each interval of 180 degree .

the difference between slip ring & split ring is slip ring
are stationary . & split ring rotate after 180 degree

What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?..

Answer / gopal manda

split ring is also called commutator use in DC machine.where as slip ring use in AC machine for take output or input to machine

Is This Answer Correct ?    12 Yes 4 No

What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?..

Answer / mohit

Split rings are used in dc generators to make the current reverse in every half rotation of the split ring while slip rings are used in ac generators so that it could maintain the same current to external circuit

Is This Answer Correct ?    11 Yes 4 No

What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?..

Answer / rahul mohan

slip ring is used in AC MACHINES because they transmit electric power from stationary to rotating structure, and it does not change the current flow direction.
while, SPLIT rings are used in DC machines that changes the current flow for every half rotation and is used to convert ac to dc.

What is the difference between Split ring and slip ring?..

Answer / shahzaib/zeeshan

split ring is mirror like shape. while slip ring is circle like shape. split ring is used in d.c motor for reversing the direction of current after each half revolution. on the other hand slip ring is used to keep the direction of current in same senses
