yes we can drive the 50Hz motor on 100Hz by using variable frequency . and as we know that synchronous speed =120*f/p.
as frequency increase motor speed also increase. and also if frequency increase motor size also can be decrease in design if want to decrease

Answer / zenat
it will effect the motor speed, everything will run
(100-50)*100/50=100% faster than normal speed...which may
damage the motor.

If you are using a inverter on a 50Hz motor.
At 50Hz the VSD is usually outputing 400V
If the motor is connected in star the volage across each
coil is 230V at 50Hz. The motor will run with designed
magnetising current therefore can produce the correct
torque, then the load is increase. If we continue in
frequence, the magnetising current is lower, and therefore
the motor will loose torque.
Connect the motor in delta and change the settings to 415V
at 100Hz and the same magnetising curve is produced.
Therefore the motor will not stall due to lower torque
charactistics.
