What is A check, B check, C Check & D check for a diesel
Generator? Please guide me as this question was asked many

1. Check oil level.
2. Check cleanliness of DG
3. Check Battery Voltage
4. Check any Leakage
5. Check all filter condition
6. Check oil Level
7. Check coolent Level
8. Check Check V-Belt condition
B-Check (Every 300- 350 Hrs.)
1. Change oil.
2. Change oil filter,fuel filter,bypass filter.
3. Change Air Filter.
4. Change water Separator
5. Radiator cleaning with chamical
C-Check (Every 800-1500 Hrs.)
1. Change oil.
2. Change oil filter,fuel filter,bypass filter.
3. Change Air Filter.
4. Change water Separator
5. Radiator cleaning with chamical
6. Check All Electrical terminal & thimbles
7. Check polution level
D-check (Every 3000- 5000 Hrs.)
1. Complete DG set should be dismental.
2. Turbo charger service
3. Injector Pin service
4. Cylinder Head service
5. PT Pump sevice &
6. Repeat same B-Check process.
If your DG set running hours more than 10,000 then in D-
Check You should need to be
1. Change Piston Bearing,
2. Change nozels,
3. Piston Cylinder also need to be change.
4. Change Canopy filter if require
5. Check polution level

DG A Check
this check is preventive maintainance of DG sets(1000-1500KVA).
1) A-check is done on daily basis here we check:
a) oil level
b) coolant level
c) gauge valve level
d) check for any leakage.
e) cleanliness of DG set.
2) B-check(done after 300hrs of cycle or 6 months whichever is earlier. )
a) check lube oil filter
b) fuel filter
c) air filter
d) bypass filter
3) C-check(done after 1500hrs of cycle or 3 yrs whichever is earlier.)
a) all steps of b-check.
b) check/change of air filter (if needed).
c) check/change of other filters mentioned in b-check.
d) change of gasket of chambers.
4) D-check
a) done in 6000 hrs of cycle.
