Answer / gajanan
there are 2 reasons
1. the windings of motor are displaced in space and phase
but that of xmer are only in phase.
2. the windings of xmer are concentrically connected and in
conc conneced wind no mechanical motion is produed

Three phase transformer cannot rotate like 3phase motor.becoz,
1.There is no mechanical displacement of winding.so,no
rotating magnetic field.
2.There is no air-gap b/w py & sec winding.

A current carrying conductor rotates only when it is placed in an external rotating magnetic field. Therefore there are two parts in any motor i.e. rotor and stator, one for the purpose of field and other for rotation. although there is a rotating field in a 3 ph transformer the flux and the magnetic field is the same (mutual flux). for the force there should be external magnetic field, current and conductor itself. As there is no external field all the pr and secondary winding do is to induce voltages.

the primary and the secondary are the same frequencyin the
case of three phase transformer where as
in the same frequency the induction motor canot rotate

Because Transformer works on the princle of mutual
induction moreover it is a static device not an rotating
device and also it is only capable of stepping up or step
down of voltage so only it cant rotae like a three phase
motor

Answer / shilpa
because unlike an induction motor the secondary is not
provided with a shaft and mechanical arrangements making it
able to rotate . otherwise th e induction motor also works
on the same principle and rotates.

Because Transformer only transfer load from higher level to
lower level in technical can say Transformer can stepup and
step down the voltage. so, this is call static device not
moving device.Configuration of transformer is Dry type Oil
type for distribution of load with diffent cooling
process . Three phase motor has rorating field through
shaft of motor.Due to this cause transformer rating always
in ative load (KVA) not in Real Load (KW).and Motor has
name with real load and HP rating.

Difference between induction motor and synchronous motor? i Think Synchronous motors operate at synchronous speed (RPM=120f/p) while induction motors operate at less than synchronous speed (RPM=120f/p – slip).
