It is a convention there will not be any problem
technically if we change that arrangement

Not necessary to use only the middle phase.
our Back up protection cosist of two overcurrent elements
and one earth fault element.
under normal condition vector (IR + IY + IB) = 0
in fact middle phase is not used for earth fault prot.
Earth fault relay is connected between the star point of
all three phases (after O/C Relay) and the earth. if any
unbalance occurs, the unbalance current will flow through
the e/f relay.

on that point resiudual current is zero normally current sum
is zero at thatt point whenever balance is distrubed current
will flow

WHY RATING OF VCB NOT LESS THAN 630A
Sir, I need a power supply at 380V. The supply I get in three phase is rated 415V. The total supply I have from the supply company is 70KW. Kindly inform if it is better to use a voltage stabiliser for this purpose or a transformer

why power factor is important?
I have 11KV/415V power distribution transformer. I have found unbalance current in LT (415V) side. Also observed that unbalance voltage (3V) at LV side due to HV side unbalance voltage. What should I check for this? Also, the same LV side load can run in balance on captive power.
