Answer written by Ramendra Shukla is perfect.
if a 220 V bulb is connected accross 415 V then the blub
will glow much higher then usual but for the time being as
high potential will burn out the fillament wire of the bulb.
And for those who is telling that it require a return
path - tell me then how a motor operates at 3 phase?where
is the return path?
There is no return path required in 3 phase or 2 phase as
in 3 phase syestem each phases wire act as the return
path;the basic concept of how electrons flow in three phase
system thereby Current.

In India the supply voltage is 440 V,50 Hz. for 3 phase.
and normally we will get 220 V at single phase with neutral
& 420V with Phase to Phase.
if our Bulb is rated for 240 V and we are suppling 2 phase
420 V to it then due to high potential the bulb element
will not capable to bear the high current & it will get
fused.
Canclusion:- when bulb will connect between two phase it
will glow for very short time (in Nano Sec.)&get fused due
to high potential.

for bulb we 220vac.means one phase and one natural.if u
connecting a bulb only two from three phase supply.now
phase to phase volatges are 415vac.so from overvoltage the
bulb will suddnely fuse.

The bulb rated for 220 [Max 240V] Volts, to be connected
between phase
and neutral. If it is connected between two phases the bulb
is subjected to root3 times 220volts and will get fused.
It can glow if Phase voltage below 150V each.
