capacitor bank used in industries to improve power factor
value.
when load is inductive power factor is lagging
and in case of capactive load power factor is leading.
so for the industrial load which is inductive we use
capacitor bank so as to improve power factor near unity

Its a capacitor bank .
Capacitor banks are used to compensate for the reactive loads which causes low power factor.In industries value below 0.9 are imposed with penalty.So for inductive loads and Harmonic compensation capacitor banks are connected to improve the Pf.
