Share refers to the share ownership in a company having the
voting right, whereas stock may refers to the level of
inventory in hand, whether Raw Materials, WIP or Finished
Goods.

The two terms are used synonymously today although there is a
very slight difference that exists between the two.....stock
refers to the total ownership in terms of the aggregate
ownership in terms of the whole portfolio of shares held by a
person.....share refers to the holding of shares in a
particular company.....effectively.....
Stocks = Shares of the first company + Shares of the second
company + Shares of the third company + ..... + Shares of the
nth company
