Normally entropy is expressed as q/T.
But, work and heat have same unit.
Why can't it be replaced by work?
Answer / Sandeep Vimal
Entropy is not equivalent to work or energy because entropy is a measure of the disorder or randomness of a system, whereas work and energy describe the ability to perform mechanical work or transfer heat within the system. Although both work and heat have the same unit (joules), they represent different types of energy transfers. Heat (Q) can increase the entropy of a system when it is transferred from a hot object to a cold one, but not when it does mechanical work on an object. Work (W) can change the state of a system and perform mechanical tasks, but it may or may not increase its entropy, depending on the specifics of the process.
