In Data warehouse environments typically view data in the
form of a star schema, OLAP environments view data in the
form of a hierarchical cube. A hierarchical cube
includes the data aggregated along the rollup hierarchy of
each of its dimensions and these aggregations are combined
across dimensions. It includes the typical set of
aggregations needed for business intelligence queries.
