One example is system crash. It has high severity that means
has high impact on the application. But it occurs rarely
because we cannot expect customer to go to unacceptable
values to make system crash. So it has lowest priority.

Hi,
1) Sevierity is a Bussiness impact, it shows how much the
issue will effect the bussiness.
2) Priority is a technical impact, it means how fast it
gets fixed.
EX: In a web application, assume 500 customers are exist in
the product ABC. The product can not personally contact
each person for any queries regarding finace, meetings,
Budget etc. So the system will send the Autoresponder
messages (usually written in VB.EXE)to all the customes
before due date. But, only 450 customers received the
Meeting schedule updates message(out of 500).
In this case, Sevierity is High and preority is Low.
Thanks,
