What is QUIESCE?..

QUIESE is used to establish a consistency point for the
named tablespaces. It issues a drain lock to disallow any
further processing and allows the currently executing UOW
to commit. Writes all the changed pages from the buffer to
DASD. The RBA is noted in the SYSCOPY.
