Metrics are not collected by tester.It was collected by
P.M/T.M.It specifies what r t reasonable tests to be applied
on the build.

a tester doesn't collect the metrics..
QA analyst/QA lead has the creates and maintains the
metrics in order to verify in a frequency of day or
two,week,month where the QA team is....
how many tests are done.
how many bugs are found
how many of them got fixed
how many of them are closed.
who is working on what module.
etc...
