How to culture various cell types from tumor tissue?
Answer / Avinash Rai
Culturing cells from tumor tissue involves several steps. First, the tissue is mechanically and enzymatically dissociated to obtain a single-cell suspension. Then, the cells are plated onto appropriate culture dishes and grown in an appropriate medium suitable for the cell type of interest. For example, carcinoma cells can be cultured in DMEM with 10% FBS, while neuroblastoma cells require MEM with 10% horse serum.
