Tell me in a mosfet, what does the pinch off voltage refers to?
Answer / Ram Krishna Trivedi
In a MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor), the pinch off voltage (Vp) is the gate-source voltage at which the channel is completely depleted of carriers (either electrons or holes). At this voltage, the drain and source are isolated, and the MOSFET enters its saturation region. The pinch off voltage plays a crucial role in determining the threshold voltage (Vt) and the active region of operation for the MOSFET.
