Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) is added during the preparation of standard FAS (Ferrous Ammonium Sulfate) solution to ensure proper solubility and stability. The sulfate ions from the sulfuric acid help to increase the solubility of the ferrous ammonium sulfate.
