Substances which do not melt even at high temperatures are
termed as refractory material. These are used for inner
linning furnaces. Examples of these are:-

(a)Slica (acideic in nature)

(b)Lime, magnesite, dolomite (basic in nature)

(c)Bone-ash (Neutral)

(d)Fire-clay
