Example: you have salt, water and sand.
You want the sand.
You mix all together in a glass beaker, until the salt has
dissolved, and it looks like you only have sand and water,
get some filter paper, and a funnel and another beaker, and
let the water drip through. Then the sand will still be on
the filter paper as it is to bg to get through. put the
salt and water solution and put in a evapouration dish.
leave at an window. The water will evapourate, and you will
be left with the salt in the dish.

Some solids do not dissolve when mixed with a liquid substance. The solid particles are large enough to settle at the bottom of the container. This type of mixture is called suspension.
To separate the solid parts in a solid-liquid suspension, the mixture filtered using filter paper.this process is called suspension.
Filtration is the process applied to separate the chalk powder from the water.Water passes through the filter paper while chalk powder trapped.

What is positive testing in relation to chemistry? For example, the sentence reads "Sample solutions are solutions known to contain one of each of the following ions, silver ion, Ag+(aq), barium ion, Ba2+(aq), and iron (III) ion, Fe3+(aq). Testing solutions are the solutions containing a polyatomic ion that can react with one of the metal ions to give a positive test." I am then asked to define what a "positive test" is. I am currently a student who is pretty new to chemistry, please try and make your answer as simply as possible. Thanks for the help.
