What are the different types of expenditures used in accounting?
Answer / Mohammad Safi Khan
Expenditures, also known as expenses, can be categorized into two main types: operating expenses and non-operating expenses. Operating expenses are costs that are directly related to a company's primary business activities, such as cost of goods sold (COGS), salaries, rent, utilities, and depreciation. Non-operating expenses are costs that are not directly related to the core operations but still affect the financial performance of the company, such as interest expense, income taxes, gains or losses from the disposal of assets, and extraordinary items.
