What is current CRR and SLR?
Answer / Bhawani Shankar
As of 2022, the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) in India is set at 4% by the Reserve Bank of India. This means that commercial banks must maintain a certain portion of their deposits as cash reserves with the central bank. The Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) is currently set at 18%, which mandates that a percentage of a bank's total deposits be held in specified assets like government securities and gold.
