What is conic lofting?
Answer / Gaurav Tiwari
Conic lofting is a mathematical method used in aircraft design to determine the shape of airfoils, which are the cross-sectional shapes of wings and other aerodynamic surfaces. Conic sections (circles, ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas) are used as initial shapes for airfoils, and their parameters are adjusted through iterative processes to achieve desired performance characteristics.
