3.1 and 4.0 are different platform hence you cannot directly upgrade a 3.1 system to 4.0/4.1 system.
We have to start a full build 4.1 installation on the server machine, then we can migrate the objects from 3.1 systems to 4.0 systems using upgrade management tool.

Its regarding Javascript coding for customization in BI4 reports. We need to have all the options disabled in the report except the option to Export(save the report in computer in Excel/pdf formats). I am able to hide TopBar,TabBar,Left Navigation etc but I need "Export" option to be displayed to the users in Read mode. Can this selective "hiding" be achieved?

I am working on Business Objects-reporting side. Database is Teradata. I have two questions here: 1. We will be working only on Infoview on QA environment. Do I need to add ODBC entries for the QA database server on my machine to be able to create/refresh Infoview reports? I will not be using Desk_I or Web_I rich client. 2. Once reports are developed,Admin team would migrate the reports to Production and make these available to business users. The reports are Refresh on Open. Would the business users need to have the ODBC entries of Production database server in their machines to be able to refresh these reports?
