In orifice plate the area is constant & Dp is variable.
Whereas in the Rotameter the DP is constant & the area is
variable.

rotatmeter is maintaing constant differential pressure and
orifice plate does not like that it will differ.

Rotameter it self flowmeter and orifice is obstracle plate which is used for flow mesurement in dp type trnsmitter
