An induction motor is an AC (Alternating Current) electric motor that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy using the electromagnetic induction principle. The motor consists of a stator (stationary part) and a rotor (rotating part).nnThe stator contains windings arranged in slots, which are fed with an alternating current from the power supply. This creates a changing magnetic field, which induces a current in the rotor's windings through electromagnetic induction.nnThe rotor of an induction motor is a squirrel-cage type, meaning it has metal bars that short-circuit the rotor winding. The rotation of the rotor is caused by the interaction between the stator and rotor magnetic fields. Induction motors are widely used in various applications such as industrial drives, HVAC systems, pumps, and fans.
