explain the positive displacement pump?
Answer / deenar satam
positive displacement pumps can be of rotary as well as
piston type. the pps which includes piston can be single
double or multistage .
in rotary type p/ps there are vane p/p,internal gear
p/p,external gear p/p,lobe p/p etc.
in positive displacement pps priming is not required.
they can run dry for some period of time.
can handle multiple types of fluids.
can deliver more head than centrifugal p/p. but discharge
rate is less as compared to centrifugal p/p
