Local Filter is to single block to which it is created, but
a global filter is to all the blocks which consists of that
column

a report can contain more than one block...same way
a document can contain more than one report.....
so if we see one report we have some blocks....
applying a report filter to only one block is local filter..
applying a report filter to all blocks is global filter...
in any report.

A filter which applies to a one single block in the report is called local filter but a filter which applies to all blocks in the report is called as global report filter.

Global filter is universe level filter. It's effected on all reports while using the universe.

Report level filter is Local filter. It's effected on only that report. we can't use that filter any where.

i Have created the universe in which i have one table and different derived tables from the same table i am supposed to create report from the same universe which should dispalay the duplicates rows, but all the time i run the report i am not getting the duplicate rows i have checkd the duplicate report option too in report.. is there problem with universe or report,.. can any body help?
