what is phase shifting transformer.

It is simply a 3 phase wound rotor induction motor which is operated at locked rotor condition. Its rotor and stator winding terminal has come out where we can make external connections.
We can connect a 3 phase power supply side to the stator and observe the waveform at other side (rotor) (or vice versa).
There if we change the rotor position manually by rotating we can observe that the phase angle difference between stator voltage and rotor voltage is increasing or decreasing (depending on the direction of rotation).
In the technical term this is called as "synchro differential transmitter"

secondary side for controlling power flow in a parallel line
of transmission system,to avoid uneven loading in
transmission systems because of different line impedance's.

Explain What will happen when direction of field current is changed (i.e, field excitation is reversed) in the following machines? 1) Alternator 2) Synchronous Motor 3) D.C Generator ( Shunt or Seies ) 4) D.C Motor ( Shunt or Seies )
In case of salient pole alternator when number of poles are 4 or more than 4 it helps the flux wave to be sinusoid as air gap length is increased from center to tip , but if the number of poles are 2 how does the flux wave is sinusoidal?
