clockwise, that's how doorknobs usually work and a car door
lock is more analogous to a doorknob. It's also easier for
right-handers in a hurry and more people are righties.

turn key into Reverse directions of locking.
as if driver's side door will open then turn right side to key otherwise turn left side to key.

Push the lock nozzle gently inside after inserting the key
into the lock and turn it left to unlock it.

in anticlockwise direction because this is the thumb rule to unlock any thing just like in case of a screw.

you have to turn it both the ways everytime .....if you rotate it clockwise to unlock, then you have to rotate the key anti-clockwise to remove it. And vice-versa if you rotate anti-clockwise to unlock the lock.
so if you want your key back after unlocking you have to rotate in both the direction. :)
