diffrence between application testing and product testing? ..

Answer / naveen

I totally agree with ASAD; when testing a product the
process or testing lifecycle varies when compared to
application testing. Testing levels such as ALFA & BETA
testing will be included in a product testing before the
actual release. In an application testing u can see stages
such as UAT before the application goes to production.

Its a good question which requires careful understanding
about the application under test and who are going to be
the end users...

diffrence between application testing and product testing? ..

Answer / jagadeesh

Product testing is defferent from Application testing in a
sence that the SDLCs vary between them. If SDLC vary the
testing processess vary. The testing types those can be
carried out on them can vary. In case of Products generally
the requirements are concrete and a simple water fall SDLC
or tailored WF SDLC is followed. So the Alpha, Beta, UAT
(Sometimes) are irrelevant to the application/services
based testing.

Let me know if it can be improved.
Thanks
jagadeesh
