The Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is an effective
technique that helps produce multiple copies of a target DNA
sequence.
It amplifies DNA that are either too small, or too degraded.
Thus it is possible to analyse DNA got in minute quantities
in places like a drop of blood at a crime scene or a cell
from an extinct dinosaur.
Thermal cycler is an instrument which is used to run the PCR
experiments. PCR was discovered by Kary Mullis in 1984.
