What is severity and Priority, gave me a example of High Severity and Low Priority and Vice Versa. ..

Answer / purni

Severity is defined by the tester. Severity defines the how
severe is the defect like critical, high severity, medium
and low severity.
Priority is defined by the developers. Priority defines how
soon the defect need to be fixed.
If the main functionality of the application is not working
as intended then while testing we assign it as high
severity. For ex. In the banking application after
completing the transaction we have click submit if it
doesn't work properly it is high severity defect.
Low priority is if there are any cosmic errors like spelling
mistake. First they have to first pay attention to the high
severity and then low priority defect.

What is severity and Priority, gave me a example of High Severity and Low Priority and Vice Versa. ..

Answer / sharma

are fellows his question is high severity and low priority
and low severity and high priority

ex: If there is a customer visit to the company all the
look and feel defects will be treat as high severity and
low priority

for instance Google application.

If the name of google will be in this way gogle then this
defect will be treated as high severity and low priority

and if at all the application is not yet developed though
the defect is raised from the testing department then it
will be treated as low priority and high severity

for ex: google application there is an image button called
i am feeling lucky was not yet coded so it is not working
fine then here tester will raise the defect but it will
place a low priority by the developer
