we know that each insulator disk can tolerate upto 11kv,for example when we want to find no. of 220kv,first find phase voltage for 220kv and then divided by 11kv.
phase voltage=220/1.732=127kv
no. of discs=127/11=12.
according to economic and safety are taken into account,it value varies from 11-13 discs.

The 400 kv transmission line required no of disc ppt the value this formula
Value of voltage (KV)
N = KV/19.03
Then add 1 disc . Fore exmalpe
400/19.03 = 21.01~ 21 + 1 = 22 disc required
