elements which satisfy superposition principle are said to
be linear elements.otherwise they are nonlinear elements.
in a simplest way, for linear elements the V and I
relationship should be linear i.e the releation should be
straight line which is passed through the origin. examples
for linear elements are R, L, C etc. but where as Diode is
a nonlinear element. it follows square law.transistor also
comes under nonlinear element category.

In linear element,the output varies linearly with respect to
the input. eg: in resister the output current varies
linearly with respect to the applied voltage... so resister
is an linear element
whereas in non linear, the output not vary linearly with
respect to input.... eg: diode

Linear elements are those which obey the following two
laws.They are 1)Additivity and 2)Homogenity and these two
laws together called as superposition.....
1)Additivity---->input 2----output4
---->input 3----output 5
----->input 5----output 9
2)Homegenity----->input 1---output3
------>input 3---output9
the examples of linear elements are Resistor,capacitor and
inductor....and the examples for non-linear elements are
diodes and transistors....and the graph for the linear
elements passes through the origin....

linear element are those which follow superposition principle and ohms law can be applied to such network whereas non linear network does not follow these and ohms law cannot be applied to such network

Linear elements are resistor,capacitor,inductor,transformer.for linear element there should exist linear relationship between voltage and current. i.e They change linearly with respect to each other.The graph is a straight line.
Non linear elements are diode,transistor. i.e semiconductor devices.The relationship between voltage and current is non linear (i.e not straghtline).

linear elements are those which obey Ohms law.for example
resistor,capacitor,inductor etc.it hav a characterics
containing a straight line passing through the origin with
a definite slope.
nonlinear elements are those which doesnt obey Ohms law.for
example diode ,transistor etc

Answer / rohit
Linear elements gives steady state response with repect to
current or voltage. Nonlinear elements are those who don't
give response w.r.t. to time,voltage,current,etc.
