E1 is 2 MBPS data carrying channel (Pipe) consists of 32
channels of 64kbps data in which Ch0 and Ch15 used for
Signalling and control function and other 30 Channels are
used for data/voice communication.
ISDN PRI is also like E1 with additional feautures like
fast and reliable call setup facility and holds detailed
information about the calls, which will be useful for call
setup, clearing and billing. It also have 30 TCH in 2 MBPS.

ISDN PRI has two standards i.e. T1 which is US standard and
has 23B and 1 D channel and speed is 1.54 Mbps.
E1 which is European standard and has 30B and 1D channel and
speed is 2.048Mbps.
Now ISDN PRI transmits info in the digital form and
channelized E1 transmits info in analog form.
ISDN PRI has inbuilt D channels but in channelized E1 there
are no inbuilt D Channels and hence signaling has to be done
by data channels only which degrades the performance.
