2',3'-dideoxycytidine used for the treatment of AIDS.when it
is given to aids patients ,azt and ddcare converted into
triphosphate forms which compete with dttp and dctp as
substrates for dna synthesis.as dna synthesising enzymes of
hiv are sensitive to azt and ddc inhibition these
nucleoside analogues acts as drugs for hiv patients.

they may incorporate into the functional DNA and may inhibit
the viral DNApolymerase.eg; dideoxy thymidine analouge
zidovudine used to cure HIV infection.
