How LVDT position transmitter works on DC supply(24vdc) from DCS, whereas transformer operates on AC supply? pls help..
Answer / bongani
the linear variable differential transmitter or transformer has a potentiometer(varrying resistance) when it stretched the resistance changes. With the 24vdc supply, the ohms law is completed to give a linear 4-20mA output to your controller or indicator. same storry applies on the RVDT
