Why Flow measurement has to use Square Root..

Answer / ahmed helmy

Q= Cv sqrt(delta P/G)
where:
Cv:Flow Coefficient
delta P:the difference between Inlet and outlet pressure
G: specific gravity
so from this equation, we find a relationship between flow (Q) and delta P

Why Flow measurement has to use Square Root..

Answer / muslim

DP reading is small compare to actual flow so square root
will make the linear relation between Dp and actual
flow.also some time we have to consider the fluid density
