PRESSURE.FORMULA IS:-

Q= Cv sqrt(delta P/G)
where:
Cv:Flow Coefficient
delta P:the difference between Inlet and outlet pressure
G: specific gravity
so from this equation, we find a relationship between flow (Q) and delta P

Flow varies directly proportional to the sq.root of differential pressure.thatswhy we are using sq root for flow measurement.

DP reading is small compare to actual flow so square root
will make the linear relation between Dp and actual
flow.also some time we have to consider the fluid density
