what is slip ring induction motor? How it works?
it is a type of induction motors ,it is used where ,there we need high torque.it have a moulded slipring in it's rotors , and it's rotor shorted through the resistance box, and we can verying it's speed.it is used mostly in cranes in a industrial areas.

i heard that power factor(PF) is the main concern for industries, if they are maintaining PF around 0.6 they will be fined for that. now the question is, how can they improve the PF ranging between 0.9 to 0.95 which is safe for them i,e escaping from the fine?
