Why clock frequency of microcontroller 8051 is11.059
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / saili
the 8051 serial communication uses 11.059 MHz clock frqueny.
this is used to obtain a specific standardised bit rate for
serial communication. using 12MHz or 24MHz frequeny wont
yeild a proper standard bit rate in serial communication.

Answer / sunil h yadav
The maximum operating frequency=1/2*clock frequency.
The clock frequency of 8051 is 24MHz.As 8051 has two crystal pins, therefore max.operating frq.becomes 12MHz.But due to some
constraints max.frequency reduces to 11.059
