KW is for unity power factor. But it is not so when you have
inductive load where PF may vary any were between .5 to .99.
Hence ratings are given in KVA.

because transformer or DG are energy convertor not consumer
and KW is active power being consumed , transformer and DG
do not consume any power except some losses, hence these
are rated as KVA free from power factor

transformers and dg's are inductive loads they are carying
capacitance and inductance so capacitive reactance and
inductive reactanctance .ie called in kva

why capacitor do not switch ON the DG power? (I had checked, capacitor ON in DG power that time current rating was reduced.)
