Answer / karthick
All the three processes are machining operations
Boring:Process of producing holes of larger diameter
compared to drilling
Reaming:Process of sizing and finishing the already drilled
hole
Lapping:Process of surface finishing. It is done by rubbing
two surfaces using abrasives b/w them.As a result of
lapping a reflective surface will be produced

Boring bars are used for enlarging an existing drilled hole. Even though we have fine finish boring bars, its surface finish will be poor compared to other finishing processes.A comparatively large amount of material is removed in this process.
Reamers are used for finishing an existing hole. we can get up to N6 finish by reaming and an Ra up to 0.8.
Lapping is a super finishing process where abressive powder is rubbed against the surface in a lubricating environment. We can get below N5 finish through this process.

I THINK REAMING AND BORING HAVE THE SAME PURPOSE..ENLARGING AND FINISHING THE EXISTING HOLE.BUT REAMING USES MULTI TEETH CUTTER WHEREAS BORING USES SINGLE TOOTH CUTTER.
LAPPING IS FOR FINISHING THE SURFACE BY RUBBING THE SURFACE..
